Getting ready for the holidays

As are most people, we are busy getting ready for the holidays. Here are a few photos of what's been going on.

Obviously we were cleaning up in the kitchen, and I turned around, and here he was. Helping out.

The tree is fun. I usually only try to touch it when mom is around.

A nice man, made and donated this rocking horse for a raffle at the YMCA. But I got to play on it.
Christmas should be fun. We are looking forward to our time together and with our family.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

What's new

Here's a few photos of what's been going on....

I haven't had a normal size Christmas Tree in a long long time. But since the cats are gone, and thanks to my Grandma, we're able to have one this year.

Adam's brother Matt and wife Sabrina and 2 mo old Leah came to visit and join us at the game. We also did some fun stuff like swimming and visiting Santa.

A cold cold Packer Game on Dec 7.

Just a few fun video clips

It won't be long and he'll be running. So here is some video of him crawling. He crawls with a purpose...

He's pulling himself up to a stand- and still falls sometimes. I've been stuggling with the sippy cup...he'll be 18 and still drinking from a bottle. But we've been making slow progress. Now he just needs to tip his head back when he is holding the cup on his own. And he sometimes makes funny noises. We think it's a form of a laugh.

Happy Halloween

My little bumblebee. He wore his costume to the YMCA on Friday. We didn't go trick or treating. I thought it was a little hoaky, when he can't even hold the bucket himself- so I'd do it for him and say 'trick or treat'......we'll go next year. He did have fun playing around in the living room inbetween kids coming to our door. But the little jacket doesn't breath very well. The last photo is of is sweaty head.

Good Food

My sister-in-law, Maggie, is looking for a few good meals. So here are 2 that we like to cook- fast and simple.

Salsa Chili
-ground beef or turkey (browned)
-chopped onion
-salsa (which ever variety you like)
-pinto beans
-tomato juice
(I did not put quantities, because the more salsa and tomato juice you use, the larger the dish becomes, and add beans and meat, etc to make it the right proportions)

Basically you put all these ingredients into a pot, let it cook until it's heated through.
We garnish with sour cream, cheese and tortilla chips.

Chicken & Green Bean Casserole
-1 can green beans, drained (sometimes I add a can of corn too)
-1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
-2 cups diced chicken or turkey
-1 cup cooked rice
-1/2 cup milk
-1 can French fried onion rings

combine beans, soup, chicken, rice and milk
pour into a baking dish, top with paprika if you want
bake at 350 for 20 minutes, top with onion rings, bake for 1o more minutes or until golden brown

Enjoy!

I'm a proud parent....

It has been a rough week at our house. All week we dealt with nasty nasty diaper rash and diarrhea. It started last Monday, and our mantra has been, 'oh he's just teething' but he's 7 months old and still no teeth.

But we have teeth now! I noticed his first tooth last night, front- lower left side. So the mystery of the sickness this week as been solved.

And he's mastered some fun skills this week too. He is a crawling machine, he can use his arms and legs and moves fast. He sit up like a big boy, and can lay on his stomach, roll to his back and then go back to seated position. And one more trick, he can pull himself up in the or on the floor and balance on his knees.

It's fun to watch him growing.

last one for the night

more fun on his knees

Balloon fun

He was so fun this evening, I just have to post the fun clips from this evening. So bare with me.

Here's some more

I saw him for the first time tonight do a few things I haven't seen yet. It's great to see him learning so fast. So here is some video of him on his knees. He is also able to go from a crawling position to a seated position, another first for this evening, but couldn't get any video of it.

Peek-a-Boo

When we go in to get Brennan ready for the day, or after a nap, he is usually up and waiting for us. He is always very happy and smiling.

kisses and saucers

here are some more video clips

Fun from the Saucer

He gets a little camera shy, he can do so many fun things, I'll keep trying to capture them.

random photos

I don't have any good video footage, so here are a few recent photos....
1. He loves the 'saucer' and he loves to look at and pet the animals.
2. Getting ready for bed, he only has to wear his shoes at night, we have a zip up blanket that we wears, otherwise I'm sure he'd tug and tug at the shoe strings throughout the night.
3. We went to a ball game this summer. Go Green Bay Bullfrogs.
4. Relaxing in moms hat.

There's no stopping him now!

Here is a video of him rolling back to front....with his shoes on. I know it's kinda dark, but he uses his shoes as leverage. He was getting stuck on his shoulder, and with his shoes he would push himself up.

But the video below is from the next day. And well, he has master the roll, and does not need the shoes for leverage....

Here is some fun with the boppy. This is from a few months ago, before he was more stable with his neck and back.

Getting crazy in the bouncy seat...

He loves to move his legs around really fast in the seat. I get a kick out of it.

My video taking is not the greatest....I apologize, but you may get a sore neck when you watch this one...you'll see why....sorry.
